Calcium is one of the essentail macro nutrients that plants need for healthy growth. Calcium is rarely deficient in soils but the plant may find it difficult to transport in salty soil, humid or cold conditions.
Kiwicare NOURISH ORGANIC CITRUS and NOURISH ORGANIC FLOWER contain balanced levels of calcium with other macro nutrients and trace elements. It is necessary to have a constant supply of calcium for continued growth.
Calcium is usually abundant in soils but plants can have difficulty uptaking and transporting it. It is transported in the water transpiration system of palnts. In salty soils or in humid or cold conditions plants can find it difficult to move calcium to growing points. Calcium deficiency will appear in younger leaves as dieback and burns and in fruits as rot and marking, because they have a very low transpiration rate.
The macro nutrients that plants need in relatively large quantities are nitrogen (N), sulphur (S), phosphorus (P), potassium (K), calcium (Ca) and magnesium (Mg). But plants also need trace elements in small quantities for healthy growth. Trace elements include; iron (Fe), manganese (Mn), boron (B), copper (Cu), zinc (Zn), molybdenum (Mo) and humic acids.
