HOW TO CONTROL SLATERS

To get rid of slaters / woodlice:

Kiwicare LAWNGARD PRILLS can be sprinkled on soil and gravel areas where slaters are found. It should be watered in well with a sprinkler or good shower of rain.

About

Slaters or woodlice are not usually regarded as a pest. They live in leaf litter and amongst decaying wood and the cracks and crevices between stones. However, on occasions when conditions have been favourable to breeding they can boom to large numbers.

Slaters can sometimes be found in huge numbers in vegetable patches. Also as they grow they need to find larger spaces to live in and can on mass wander into buildings seeking new homes.

Slaters are members of the family Porcellionidae. The common slater or woodlose found in New Zealand gardens and back yards is Porcellio scaber.
