Fireweed is a name that is used for several erect, leafy annual and perennial weeds of the daisy family and some species of willowherb. They often infest waste places.
Brazilian and American fireweed are, erect, 1-2 metres tall with clusters of mauve and pink flowers at the top. The flowers of the Australian fireweed are yellow and look similar to ragwort. There are also several native fireweeds.
