NO Leaks Masonry Waterproof Sealer

Summary

NO Leaks Waterproof Masonry and Concrete Sealer creates an effective barrier against water penetration into all concrete materials without hindering the ability of the walls and other treated materials to ‘breathe’, allowing trapped moisture to evaporate.  This product is ideal for porous building materials including;

All Concrete based products - blocks, paths, paving stones, foundations, un-coloured roof tiles, Fibrolite, Summerhill and Oamaru stone, concrete fish ponds, concrete milking parlour floors, other concrete pads, cement, bricks, render, rough cast, cobbles, mortar, plaster, stucco and others.

Note: Do not use on red or brown brick, terracotta or other coloured surfaces, in this case use Kiwicare NO Leaks Red Brick and Terracotta Sealer with Kiwicare Solvent or white spirit.

Dilute NO Leaks Masonry Waterproof Sealer with water and apply with brush, roller or spray.

Directions

Normal mixing rates are one part of NO Leaks Masonry Waterproof Sealer to 14 parts clean water.

As a primer for use over paint add up to 30 parts water to one part NO Leaks Masonry Waterproof Sealant.

Always add water to the product.

How to Mix Concentrates

Preparation

Wash or brush down to remove obvious dirt, grime or flaking paint.  Allow to dry before treating.  Cracks in excess of 0,5mm should be filled prior to treatment.  Chemical treatment to kill moss growth with Kiwicare NO Moss Mould Mildew is recommended before application. Brush off dead moss before waterproofing.

Mask off window glass and other areas that not to be treated. NO Leaks Masonry Sealer will etch glass.

Application

The diluted solution can be applied with a brush, roller or spray. As a general guideline 5 litre of mixed material will treat up to 20 square metres.  Very absorbent materials may use 5 litres of mixed product to 10 square metres. To achieve maximum water repellency always apply the material until rundown occurs.

Paint

Surfaces treated with Masonry Sealer can be painted over, providing certain precautions are taken.  Thin down water based paints as little as possible.  Always use a good undercoat before applying oil based paints.

Fish Pond

Leave to dry for about 2 weeks, then rinse several times to disperse potassium hydroxide.

Bonus Use

NO Leaks Masonry Waterproof Sealer can be used as an additive in water based paints or plaster to improve resistance to weathering and dirt.  One litre of Masonry Sealer to 100 litres of water in the case of plaster is recommended.

Caution

Kiwicare Waterproof Masonry Sealer is alkaline and corrosive.  Do not allow spray drift or drips onto glass or light alloys, e.g. windows, spectacles, adjacent cars etc. Masking of windows and doors in close proximity to the spraying areas is strongly recommended.  Wipe all over spray off windows and doors immediately using warm water and detergent.

Do not use NO Leaks Masonry Waterproof Sealer on red or brown, or certain dark coloured concrete bricks unless you have trialled a small inconspicuous area first. “Proceed with Caution”

For red and dark brown bricks and Terracotta the use of Kiwicare Red Brick and Terracotta Sealer is strongly recommended.

Safety

Eye Contact - Flush eyes with running water for 15 minutes holding eyelids open.

Inhalation - Avoid inhalation of spray mist. Operator should move to an area of fresh air

Skin Contact - Wash affected area with soap and water.     

Swallowed - Do not induce vomiting, drink 1-2 glasses of milk or water.

                      Obtain medical advice immediately.

If any ill effects persist call a doctor.

Spills And Disposal

Wear protective clothing. Contain spill and absorb with Sand, Soil or absorbent granules.  Do not allow product or washings to enter the waterways or sewer.

Handling And Storage

Store in original container in a cool, dry ventilated place, away from direct heat or sunlight. Store away from foodstuffs, children and animals. Keep container sealed when not in use.
