Stop Insects In Their Tracks
As the weather warms, insect activity starts to surge and by summer, ants, flies, cockroaches, and mosquitoes can quickly become a serious nuisance. The combination of higher humidity, rainfall, and warm temperatures creates perfect breeding conditions for pests, especially during La Niña years when insect survival rates soar. In drier regions, the problem shifts indoors as pests seek out moisture and shelter.
The good news? You don’t have to wait for an infestation to act. Using preventative pest control treatments like NO Bugs Super in spring can stop insects before they get inside. Treating your home and outdoor areas on a dry, sunny day helps create a powerful barrier that keeps pests away all season. For lasting protection, it’s also smart to reapply in autumn when insects start moving indoors for warmth and shelter. Follow our easy DIY 1-2-3 Step programme below to stop insects in their tracks and keep your home bug free.
Kiwicare’s 1-2-3 Preventative Pest Control Programme
- Step 1
Identify the insect/fly/spider/bug using the online Kiwicare Problem Solver. Look for where the bug may originate from i.e. entryways and breeding sites. Get rid of the breeding site if possible e.g. rubbish, lawn clippings, stagnant water etc.
- Step 2
Spray Kiwicare NO Bugs Super Protective Barrier on breeding sites, where bugs are seen contacting surfaces and in a barrier ring around the exterior and inside of buildings.
- Step 3
Use Kiwicare NO Bugs Super Bug Bomb and/or Kiwicare NO Bugs Super Fumigator to flush bugs out of their hiding places and kill them. Bug Bombs are best used in large open spaces like rooms. Fumigators are best used in large spaces with low head clearance like subfloors and roof voids.
What makes NO Bugs Super Protective Barrier Spray different to other bug sprays?
NO Bugs Super Protective Barrier spray is long-acting professional strength product the kills and prevents 99.9% of common crawling or flying insect pests. It acts by creating a barrier that insect pests will do their best to avoid and in the event they do decide to touch the area they will be killed. One spray can protect surfaces for up to 4 months outdoors and 6 months indoors. NO Bugs Super Protective Barrier Spray is odourless and doesn’t stain sprayed surfaces and most importantly once it has dried it’s safe for children and pets. Just make sure you clear children and pets from the area while spraying and while the spray is wet (it’s relatively quick drying depending on conditions) and do not spray it onto food preparation areas e.g. the Kitchen bench. If using this product outdoors, it’s best to spray on a dry sunny day.
What is the difference between Bug Bombs and Fumigators?
NO Bugs Super Bug Bombs
- This product is ideal for treating smaller, open spaces like internal rooms in a home or building
- It contains Insect Growth Regulator (IGR) which means it kills insect eggs, breaking the breeding cycle (something many pesticides don’t do).
- The droplets of spray evaporate quickly upon release, meaning surfaces dry quicker and you can safely start reusing the room in just a few hours.
- It is a simple click and release aerosol. Just push the tab down.
NO Bugs Super Fumigators
- This product is ideal for treating larger spaces with low head clearance e.g. subfloors and roof voids. It also uses a slow-release process ensuring deeper penetration (i.e. vapour not smoke) making it ideal for treating pests like borer and bed bugs that hide deep within a structure.
- It does not contain Insect Growth Hormone, which means that it kills the live insects but cannot kill the eggs/
- It is water activated i.e. you add water to the pottle for it to start working.
NO Bugs Super products are a great general preventative and pest killer that work well on their own or in tandem with other treatments if you're dealing with a specific problem like Ants or Cockroaches.
